Today, BBGDev is 2 years old. Congrats, BBGDev.
As present, I switched it to new server yesterday, and arranged new design.
We have gone to web 2.0 now, not old gaming fashion.

I wanted to tell you only that if anything does not work now as expected, demo for DD, download or poll or similar, I apologize, but it will be up & running soon. Migration is exhausting job, I migrate stuff often, few days are needed to complete every time.

So, expect from me a new category: Browser games review in next several days, where I’ll be reviewing browser games, and expect browser game demos soon. Working in SSH now is far more easier than in cPanel.

Also, GameAdverts are still running, for all of you who wish to promote your games. Besides, HOZ has started seriously, you’ll learn about that soon. And yes, Infinite RPG also.

Cheers, folks.

P.S.
For those of you who are wondering, why Angel chick in header?
I like fantasy pictures, and I like chicks. I’m quite sure most of you understand that

So, game will be called InfiniteRPG. And engine behind is named Endless Engine.
I like both so much, so I named game separately, and engine separately.

So, I’ve been working on EE/iRPG for some time now;
Changes/progress is following:

Generation of objects is now fairly good. I will have to make a bit more complex algorithm, but for now it works good enough for me to focus on other things

Combat is in progress, I’m satisfied so far. You click, and you get report. Classic.

I’ve even added simple hero screen. Nothing big.

I’ve been working also on DB lately much. Those are things which cannot be displayed on demo, unfortunately, but things like inventory system, creatures data and stuff will later be great additions.

What I would like to ask you is to give me feedback for this so far. You are encouraged to be constructive.
I have few things in mind, first of all – making all tiles clickable, so movement is quicker. But we can discuss this, yes.

Oh, DEMO URL is here!

Cheers.

Hello all;

We’ve been working hard for past several days, creating DB models and PHP logic for our announced game advertising network. Well, we call it game advertising network, but, as you already might know, it will support different kind of sites, if they’re related to gaming. Such as gaming communities, blogs, arcade sites and in first place – browser games.

To sum up in short what we’ve done so far:
After only 10 days of development:

JS ads invocation system is up & running, rotating banners as we planned

Credit per page view is given to users once network ad is shown, also one credit per view is deducted from your balance once your ad is shown in network

Detailed log and security measures have been finished

Interface & GUI templates are done

Site front is done, with several sub pages explaining everything you’d need to know about network

Registration with welcome mail and activation is done

What we need to do until we go “live” is;

Login system

Banner management view

Stats view

Our estimation is that by this weekend, we could go live. And, if no surprises – we will.

Currently, we’re performing series of testing, such as load and stress tests.

We support few ad sizes for start – common ones, such as standard 468×60 banner, and rectangle banner (300×250) and vertical ones (120×600) plus 125×125 as smallest banner.
I just wanted to let you know we’re pumping this project at max speed, taking in consideration everything that comes on our minds. In few days from now, we’ll sure be live, so, if you’re game owner or any gaming related website owner, feel free drop by in several days time, or recommend this to anyone you might know.

Regards,
Romano

Hello;
I never did any monetizing on this site since I run it out of personal reasons, but lately I am looking for a ways to pay out for hosting monthly.
I don’t like too many ads on a website, nor can I create any donation forms, due to lack of payment gateways supported in my county.

Many of you, having website, blog or similar, are also in one or another form of mission to pay at least hosting, and/or earn something for your efforts.
In such mission for myself, I found something you all may use:

PerfectTracking Surveys

So, how can you monetize your browser game or gaming website?

You can use their system to gain money and not to charge directly from your users, which moves away burden of payment from them.
They do have special package for MMORPG games, and you can find more details by clicking here.

I must say, I was quite impressed with PerfectTracking sinc, as it seems, they pay a lot, and this way of supporting a website is quite good.
I installed this myself, you can try it by clicking here. Try it out.

For more details register to PerfectTracking and try out this nice system. What can you loose?

Just out of curiosity to see what did the open source community produced lately, I ran some google search, and surfings, and guess what -> found bunch of stuff again.

Plus – I got surprised quite a bit. You know, in old days, there was no AJAX and JS libraries and stuff, so, basically, all games were pretty much text-based. But, nowdays, you can find all kind of cute things out there. Well, read and see yourself. I’ll stop babbling and get down to business:
Here it is:

Open source Browser games list – part III

1. Devana

Authors say: “MMO browser strategy game in which users can handle economical, diplomatic and military tasks to further increase their empire. Create alliances, battle other players with huge armies led by generals, trade resources, and more.”
So, I didn’t install this one, but jumped over to www.devana.eu and looked at GUI and checked out some screenshots. From my point of view, pretty impressive graphics for an opensource game. Plus, economical games never grow old, so, it seems you can play it on official page, and create own installation.
For project files go to sourceforge below:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=223722

2. Feudal times

Feudal Times is a world where you become a king, where you rule a small town and where you will make a great empire. Diplomacy, economy, town and army management, are the bases of every empire, how you mix them all is up to you. That’s what authors say. Also;
Feudal Times is a Persistent Browser Based Multiplayer Game (PBBMG). Persistent because the game continues even if you aren’t online. The buildings are being built, resources are being collected. You don’t have to sit hours in front of your PC to achieve good level in FT, it’s enough to visit it 2 or 3 times a day for about 15 minutes.
Sounds good, huh?
Link is http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2470

I haven’t seen any screenshots. Plus, I don’t use SVN (you should easily find SVN path on link above), so good luck in obtaining the code, but by description – it’s worth a shot. I’d give it 4 stars just for being worked via SVN, since it’s multi developer enviroment server and that would mean, many people can work on code. Which is always good (not entirely always, but, you know what I mean)

3. GloryLands Web Based MMORPG
Or so does title say. I’ve found it on SourceForge, having nice screenshots. I’m almost challenged to install it and try it, since it seems nice, actually.
Click here to go to project home
Screenshots do look promising for a 0.5b release, but demo is currently inaccessible, so I’d recommend you download and try out yourself.
Currently I do not have any other info, but I can say – it’s worth of installation.

************************

Also, I’m affraid there aren’t many open source engines these days that are well known. Maybe there are some that are known to somebody else, but for me, plain googleing didn’t return much more than 3 new.

Still, being new ones, all three might be good choices to try out. Graphics and AJAX based GUIs these days are superb to older games.
Enjoy.

***************************************

If you find this info usefull, consider taking a survey and making your contribution for this website. It’s totally free for you, and will take only some seconds of your time, but it keeps site running. Thank you.
