Today, BBGDev is 2 years old. Congrats, BBGDev.
As present, I switched it to new server yesterday, and arranged new design.
We have gone to web 2.0 now, not old gaming fashion.

I wanted to tell you only that if anything does not work now as expected, demo for DD, download or poll or similar, I apologize, but it will be up & running soon. Migration is exhausting job,  I migrate stuff often, few days are needed to complete every time.

So, expect from me a new category: Browser games review in next several days, where I’ll be reviewing browser games, and expect browser game demos soon. Working in SSH now is far more easier than in cPanel.

Also, GameAdverts are still running, for all of you who wish to promote your games. Besides, HOZ has started seriously, you’ll learn about that soon. And yes, Infinite RPG also.

Cheers, folks.

P.S.
For those of you who are wondering, why Angel chick in header?
I like fantasy pictures, and I like chicks. I’m quite sure most of you understand that ;)

Hello all;

We’ve been working hard for past several days, creating DB models and PHP logic for our announced game advertising network. Well, we call it game advertising network, but, as you already might know, it will support different kind of sites, if they’re related to gaming. Such as gaming communities, blogs, arcade sites and in first place – browser games.

To sum up in short what we’ve done so far:
After only 10 days of development:

  • JS ads invocation system is up & running, rotating banners as we planned
  • Credit per page view is given to users once network ad is shown, also one credit per view is deducted from your balance once your ad is shown in network
  • Detailed log and security measures have been finished
  • Interface & GUI templates are done
  • Site front is done, with several sub pages explaining everything you’d need to know about network
  • Registration with welcome mail and activation is done

What we need to do until we go “live” is;

  • Login system
  • Banner management view
  • Stats view

Our estimation is that by this weekend, we could go live. And, if no surprises – we will.

Currently, we’re performing series of testing, such as load and stress tests.

We support few ad sizes for start – common ones, such as standard 468×60 banner, and rectangle banner (300×250) and vertical ones (120×600) plus 125×125 as smallest banner.
I just wanted to let you know we’re pumping this project at max speed, taking in consideration everything that comes on our minds. In few days from now, we’ll sure be live, so, if you’re game owner or any gaming related website owner, feel free drop by in several days time, or recommend this to anyone you might know.

Regards,
Romano

Hello;
I never did any monetizing on this site since I run it out of personal reasons, but lately I am looking for a ways to pay out for hosting monthly.
I don’t like too many ads on a website, nor can I create any donation forms, due to lack of payment gateways supported in my county.

Many of you, having website, blog or similar, are also in one or another form of mission to pay at least hosting, and/or earn something for your efforts.
In such mission for myself, I found something you all may use:

PerfectTracking Surveys

So, how can you monetize your browser game or gaming website?

You can use their system to gain money and not to charge directly from your users, which moves away burden of payment from them.
They do have special package for MMORPG games, and you can find more details by clicking here.

I must say, I was quite impressed with PerfectTracking sinc, as it seems, they pay a lot, and this way of supporting a website is quite good.
I installed this myself, you can try it by clicking here. Try it out.

For more details register to PerfectTracking and try out this nice system. What can you loose?

Hi all;

I am very happy to be able to tell you a bit more today about upcoming network we’re building in BBGDev labs here :)
It’s basically second best idea I had in years now.
In previous post InGame Ads project start, I made basic intro in this game advertising network.

Further, today I’d like to write a bit about features we covered.
Since, we had few days of very enthusiastic development, based on OOP principles, we succeeded with making few views already, and a basic invocation codes engine.

So; how can this help you exactly?

(more…)

I am happy to announce to you all that InGame Ad Network project has started with development.
I wont go much public yet since we created only interface for JS invocation code. So, basically, currently we can only show ads via JS file, much like one you get with AdSense, for example.
Some work to do is ahead of us.
Still, since we only worked like 2 days on script so far, I must say it seems easy from developers point of view, so we won’t have much surprises along the way.

And, yes, you saw “WE” part. :)

I actually got my dear friend involved, and as he is great programmer (we cooperate on other project aswell), things with 2 men power now should be fairly quick :)
And so far, we’re motivated.

So, what is exactly inGame Ad Network?
It’s a service which we will open for everyone who wishes to join. And benefit. For start – it’s free. I haven’t prepared any special screenshots or schematics, but I can explain idea in few sentences, so you can get whole idea about this.
(more…)

Well, to be honest, I’ve been thinking lately much about what to do. This website was created by a gaming and web development enthusiast, actually, that is, me, so after a year of low prio attention to this web, it still has became interesting spot on net for browser games. Atleast I see it that way.

I was browsing on sites like BBG Site and similar like one where you can actually learn to code web games, PBBG’s or MMO’s, however you like to call them, and saw that they all found something they specialize in. Like – browser gaming news and reviews, or code explanations, or just plain communities.

Still, i think I found 1 thing that none of them have, and I’m about to do it this year. Good news: it rocks, bad news – I’ll have to code it :D Since, open source solution for idea I have that I’ve found does not work exactly as I had in mind.

Idea is basically, to help game owners to gain traffic and visitors. Not sure, though, how many game owners do come here, but, having a own RPG game or similar is not only term. It can be blog, or news site, or gaming community. I’ll have to make a poll about this.
Free Ad Network, thats main keyword ;) Still, I’ll write you about details once time comes.
Small hint: You know those “topsite” websites? I never was sure how much traffic they actually can generate. Idea to exchange traffic between webmasters and game owners and vice versa seems OK to me, after a day of thinking about it. If you have any comment, feel free to drop it down on comment form…

Other great thing I wanted to say here was about Infinitnte RPG Engine. I want to run own browser based game, to be honest. Haven’t done that in years now. Still, I’m thinking of collaborative concept, but have to sleep over few ideas first before going out with them.
As for development status, few short hints of current progress:

  • Tile population (random dungeon generation method) now runs outside visible area. It’s more native that way, I assumed.
  • I started with working on objects method, where different types of objects are spawned
  • After I’m satisfied with engine, I’ll put demo on, to get your much appreciated feedback, I have few worries about gameplay level
  • Next after that, would be membership system, and character class…and maybe a complete game by end of 2009, or sooner :)

“Bad news” would be; I can’t put up demo yet, but I’m eager to do it. This website should move in few weeks to another host, VPS, along with dozen others I have, so I’ll put off demo for some time. All depends on how many problems I might experience (so far was all easy with one exception, which took me 2h to solve) and how much I will dedicate myself to programming (I do run actually around 20 websites so it’s a problem sometimes :D ).

cheers,
R

Hello;

I decided to re-open community boards. Set up SMF board, and made several categories.
Idea is to create small community where we can all discuss about browser games ideas, development, marketing, and just about any aspect as players and webmasters. I’ve created Browser Games Directory a while ago, also now made boards where you can post about development, make suggestions or ask for help. Also, there is section about marketing. If you’re game owner, you can try and find mates for link trading / exchange, or similar.

URL is HERE, so join if you like.
