Because of such big interest in my first list; I decided to create new category in which I will share my knowledge about other free and open source projects out there. Since there are many many good scripts out there related to browser based games, I’ll try to pick best and present them to you. For my sequel of successful topic “List of Open source game engines“, I have chosen to present some I only mentoined there, and some new, which weren’t listed before;
So, here we go, (as before, I’ll add short description and my personal opinion)…Make sure you read entire post
1. Voided Alliance Source A PHP/MYSQL Full MMORPG, litterally, it is. It has Spell system, Monsters, NPCs, Shops, 100% Complete User System. Nothing to add, just go to homepage, get to download link and try it out, it’s good script. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=176827 3. PHP RiSK PHP RiSK is a copy of the classic board game Risk, developed in PHP and MySQL. I personally adore Risk, don’t you? Imagine how fun it can be to play it with friends over net? Darn fun, I tell ya. And if you doubt that guys made pretty neat system which actually IS playable and stable, I dare you to check http://sourceforge.net/projects/phprisk/ 4. Net Risk Same as above, but even better. Has really nice graphic interface, developers put much hard work into that one. http://sourceforge.net/projects/netrisk/ 5. Digital Tycoon I just tried that out few hours ago; and was surprised. Nice work, boyz there. Very nice, with lots of features. Author says: The project is a multi-platform browser based game where you enter an online world. Thnx to Miki for Solar Imperium Project/DL link. I’ve updated post with correct URL.
You should add OpenRPG, http://www.openrpg.fr/. Everything is in french unfortunately for us who don’t have that as a native language, but I’ve looked at the code and it’s nicely arranged using MVC and highly modular so excellent for extending.
Apparently 1.2.1 may be the last release under the GPL though, if I understood the message correctly from a Google Translated forum thread. Still, I think it could act as a great base for making browser games.
http://www.auburnflame.com/?p=idx is a dead website
this sounded perfect too, just the thing I was looking for
Here is a link on a French site to dl Voided Alliance Source Revolution.

Hello Graham,
I’m Raygoe from Auburnflame, I have restored the website. I would suggest not using it, though. It is very messy code, if that doesn’t bug you then sure, use it.
By the way, thanks for including Voided Alliance on this list!
